6th JHU Summer School on Materials Growth and Design: Frustrated and Quantum Magnetism

August 1- 6, 2021  Zoom Meeting ID: 995 9130 7626 Passcode:066859

Quantum magnetism describes systems of magnetic spins in which quantum mechanical effects dominate, resulting in unusual magnetic excited states. In addition, Magnetism in presence of geometric or exchange frustration has been of great interests due to their potential in realizing unique ground states with non-local excitation as well as topological properties. Some prominent examples of such emergent phenomena are Quantum spin liquid state, Magnetic Skyrmions, Spin ice, etc. This school will focus on the key concepts and approaches to realizing quantum magnetism in crystalline materials.
