PARADIM Highlight #116— REU Program (2025)

Since the start of the Platform in 2016, the annual REU program has been an integral part of PARADIM, funded by NSF either through the main grant or as an REU-Site. To date, the program has hosted 129 undergraduate students from across the nation. All participants are guided by experienced mentors and perform authentic research that is aligned with ongoing research projects or contributes to the advancement of the capabilities of the Platform.

So far, 26 REUs have become co-authors —shown with their year of participation—on 29 peer-reviewed journal publications. Among them, eight REUs have contributed to multiple research papers, and four REUs are lead authors.
PARADIM - the Platform for the Accelerated Realization, Analysis, and Discovery of Interface Materials—is a Materials Innovation Platform (MIP) funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) via corporate agreements DMR-1539918 and DMR-2039380.
The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) has been an integral part of PARADIM since its inception in 2016,
